The Committee on Health and Human Resources moved to amend the bill on page 1, by striking everything after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:


“That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §30-3E-4a, to read as follows:

 

ARTICLE 3E. PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS PRACTICE ACT.

 

§30-3E-4a. License renewal.


(a) A licensee shall, annually or biannually, renew his or her license by completing a form prescribed by the board and submitting any other information required by the board.

(b) A licensee does not need to maintain a current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants to renew his or her license.

(b) The board shall charge a fee for each renewal of a license and shall charge a late fee for any renewal not paid by the due date.

(c) The board shall require as a condition of renewal that each licensee complete continuing education.

(d) The board may deny an application for renewal for any reason which would justify the denial of an original application.
